MOP Glisten Shine Drops: A Light and Refreshing Hairstyling Solution

The Modern Organic Products company makes simple hair care products that are designed to keep your hair healthy, smooth, and balanced. I’ve been using several of their products for months, and I’ve found that they stand the test of time. Shampoos from other companies may seem great at first, but over time and repeated use they tend to wear your hair out and strip it of its nutrients. Modern Organic Products shampoos do the exact opposite They don’t damage the hair at all, and they actually restore nutrients rather than strip them.

But it wasn’t until recently that I tried one of their styling accessories. I wanted to try something new, so I went with their Glisten Shine Drops, which I’d only heard good things about. When it comes to styling products, I always feel like less is more. Some people like to slather so much product in their hair that they end up getting that unappealing stiff but greasy look that I imagine isn’t very fun to touch. And I assume that it’s not good for the hair and scalp, either.

Anyway, I’m not here to talk about what other people do with their hair. The Glisten Shine Drops packaging describes it as a perfect product for cocktailing with others. That may be true, but why? The Glisten Shine Drops can do the job alone. If I were going to use it with other products, I’d want to go with something equally light, probably another MOP product, but I don’t feel it’s needed.

The Glisten Shine Drops contain extracts of organic aloe, oatstraw, and horsetail, which together provide plenty of amino acids that help strengthen and reinvigorate your hair’s natural sheen. There’s also vitamin E and natural UV protection to guard your hair against the elements. All of this is good stuff. I don’t know where Modern Organic Products comes up with their formulas, but they’re really onto something with their light, natural ingredients. I just wish the other product companies would learn something from them.

Using Glisten Shine Drops is simple. All you do is put a few drops in the palm of your hand, work it slowly and gently through your hair, and then style. Because the product is so light and clear, it’s tempting to try to use more than the label suggests, but that doesn’t do any good. Trust me, a few drops are enough. Any more than that is liable to leave your hair somewhat on the greasy side.  

The result is shiny hair that is very manageable. It kills the frizz, makes your curls smooth and bouncy, and leaves hair thick but not heavy. At around $12.50 for a 1.7 oz bottle, it may not seem like the best deal in the world. But, like I said before, a little bit goes a long way. Unlike other products that require you to use multiple palmfuls, Glisten Shine Drops seem to spread out in your hair. I recommend it for anyone who is looking for refreshing hair products that won’t cause damage with regular use.
